God tells us that the very hairs of our head are numbered and that He watches over us constantly. Psalm 34:15 reads, “The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and his ears are open unto their cry.” If God is powerful and above all, why does He bother with us? Why does God love us, and care for us. Why is He interested in us?
These questions are not original with you or I. The psalmist asked the same questions, in more poetic words, when he wrote, “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?” (Psalm 8:4)
The answer is not very complex. Psalm 115:3 reads, “But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.” To make a really long story short, He wanted to. He created us the way we are for His pleasure. We didn’t deserve His favor. He didn’t die for us because He needed us, and He doesn’t continue to love us for what we give Him. It pleased God to do what He did, because He is good. So let us praise Him for who He is, and thank Him for what He has done! He is worthy of all the praise, glory, and honor we can give Him. We serve a good God! Don’t you agree?
“Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”
