Feeling faint?

Ever been at your wits end? You were exhausted beyond all imagining and you could not fulfill your obligations. When we get really focused on serving God, we can wear ourselves out. Sometimes when people get in ministry they burn out. I would like to share something that may help you maintain your strength as you serve God.

You see, when we focus on serving our God, we can forget who is the one who empowers us for service. Our attitude is no longer, "Lord, I want to serve you, please use me." We get so focused on our work, that we forget our Master. I know I have found myself saying, "God I’m working really hard right now. I’ve got too much to do, I can’t take a break." If we try to serve God in our own strength, we won’t get far. If we work so hard that we put our schedule before our God, we are in grave error.

Isaiah 40:31 says, "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." If we wait upon God, He can strengthen us. If we think focus on our schedule instead of Him we begin to stray from our purpose in life. Never forget that your number one calling is to glorify God. He is first.

Let me encourage you, focus on Christ. No matter how urgent your schedule may become, it will never be as important as resting in God. God is the source of our strength and the reason for our labor. If we take our eyes off of Him and onto our service, we will fail. However, if we give God His proper place He can strengthen us for the task. Ask God to help you. You will find that He can strengthen you for any task!

"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength." – Isaiah 40:29
