You ever notice that many times we have a socially enforced caste system. You hear people in the younger generation say things like, "They’re way out of my league, or you’re out of their league." It’s almost like people value people by their social standing. Such re-evalutating of people should never happen in the body of Christ.
In John 17:21, Jesus prayed for His church. He said, "That they may be one as thou Father art in me and I in thee that they also may be one in us that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." Jesus Christ wanted His church to be unified in that they would have the unity that Jesus had with the Father. Christ and His Father are the same person: God. Christ wanted all of us, his church, to act as if we were all the same.
I would like to encourage you, reach out to other Christians, no matter how "popular" they are. don’t fall into the attitude of the world. Christ wanted us to be unified. Why? So the world would know that God had sent us to them. We are called to be different. We are called to have unity. Will you humble yourself and reach out to others that may be of a "lower social class" than you are? When you do, you will show the world that Christ has sent you.
"By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." – John 13:35
