I don’t really have a formal devotional for you today, but I would like to share a quick thought for the day. Recently I was trusting God for something and I had some doubts. I wasn’t absolutely disbelieving God, but I had some fears.
You see, I was afraid that God wouldn’t answer my prayer, and I would look stupid. I kept thinking, "I don’t want to look like an idiot." Well, some time has past and the Lord has showed me some things. He reminded me of Noah. When Noah was building the ark, He probably looked like an idiot, but God came through for Him, and God was glorified.
When several of the prophets spoke against the king of their day, I’m sure they looked like idiots, but God was faithful and they are an example for us today. When the Israelites walked around Jericho, I’m sure they may have felt a little strange, but God came through.
I’d like to encourage you, if you are following God, and you feel like an idiot, don’t! It glorifies God when he can prove himself through unnatural situations. If your success were not dependent on a miracle, then God could not show that He was working.
If you’re afraid of looking stupid just love God and remember,
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." – 2 Timothy 1:7
