If you were to hire someone to help you at home, or at your job, etc. Would you have the smartest person in the world? Or how about the strongest or most skilled? Of course we would all say, yes to all those. So, the smartest, strongest, and most skilled person. But what if that person only came half the times you needed them? Or they canceled appointments and such. Would you rather have them only occasionally, or would rather have someone who was of average or below average skill, but they were faithful.
I don’t know about you, but I would rather have someone of below average ability who was faithful. And personally, I think God would too. God commands in scripture that we should be faithful.
"Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 Just as most of us would want a faithful servant, God wants us to be faithful servants of Him. God isn’t interested in having in the most skilled or strongest person as much as he’s interested in faithfulness.. God has all the skills, abilities, strength, and smarts. God wants servants who are faithful.
Will you be faithful to Him?
If you are, you may hear something like this . . .
"His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." – Matthew 25:21
