Christmas cookies

Ever make Christmas cookies? I have. They’re tasty, if you do them right. If you don’t follow the recipe, or decent common sense and the recipe, then they come out nasty. It’s kinda like our lives, if we follow God’s instructions, then our lives will be amazing. If we follow our own ideas, then we will ultimately fail.

God has given us certain instructions concerning our lives. Many of us have known of most of them since before we could walk. Parents and others would tell us: don’t lie, don’t steal, don’t cheat, don’t etc. When we were older we were told: read your bible, pray, believe what God says, memorize scripture verses, etc. We know a lot.

But are we doing it?

James 4:17 says, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” I’m sure you know a good amount if not a lot of how the Lord instructs us to live our lives. Are you doing it?

Are you reading your Bible regularly? Are you praying to Him? Do you separate from sin? What are you doing? Are there things, good things, you know you should be doing, but you aren’t? If that’s true, then God says that you are in sin. I would challenge you, Ask God to give you wisdom in examining your life. Look for sin and purge yourself from it. Ask God to help you seek Him with your first love. Look for ways to do good for others. Don’t just keep yourself from acts of sin. Make an effort to live a life that exhibits love. Ask God to help you, I know He will!

“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” – James 1:25
