It is natural for us to take comfort in the resources that we have available to us. For instance, if you were a multimillionaire and an economic recession were coming, you would be a lot less concerned than the average poor person. It’s just human nature. In fact, our visible form of resources shouldn’t give us comfort. We should take comfort in something else.
You see, if we find our security and trust in the things of this world, we will find ourselves to be subject to our circumstances. But if we put our trust in the Holiest of all, our focus becomes different and we can have perfect peace.
In Psalm 20:7 says, "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God." I would like to remind you, no matter how grave your situation may look, you have a God who is greater. Don’t allow the outward view to cloud your vision. Look beyond and see the God that empowers you every day. He can deliver you out of any situation.
